Aight, but it's gotta be danceable right? Okay well - this kid's relationship with bass really shows up in his next project, which we'll cover below - but even in the beginning, he "got it" the way few other artists do. This song is fun and danceable and bass-y as fuck.

@pixplz Oh I kinda dig that actually - I don't know that I've ever heard this to be honest with you; I'm in the American market so I usually get the rerelease compilation rather than the Peel Session EP - half the time they don't even sell them here.

Most people don't think of REM as a bass bad - but Mike Mills is actually brilliant, and his minimalist style carried them through their entire careers. This really shows up on Orange Crush and say What's the Frequency Kenneth - but early in their careers Mills would sometimes take the lead. Like on this track:
