I mean if I worked for any of these people A) they'd have done better on that stage tonight and 馃槑 I'd be telling them "you need a story about why it should be you, and that story has to be better than Biden versus Trump, because otherwise the Biden guy wins this automatically even though that's NOT what the public really wants or the opinion polls are saying they do."
I dunno what that story is, but it can't be "get Trump" and that's all any of the Dems had to offer tonight.
We've got a good couple of pitch notes from the Mayor of New York. They'd have to be adapted and worked for the audience, but it'd be a hell of a pull for the voters who are sick and tired of Establishment Dems harping on one note.
And I'm pretty sure Mamdani wouldn't mind sharing a few tips with the team of a person who's willing to listen and work.
If you give them a message, if you tell them a compelling story, the race is yours - because the public does not want "Biden versus Trump with Biden playing the Ghost of Christmas Past."
But you have to tell that story. And nobody even tried tonight so I dunno. My bet is the Biden guy wins - if after all the story of California Gubernatorial election is "Biden versus Trump Round 3" then only one guy up there worked for Biden.
