Good question. Our information strategy assumed that any online stuff was being monitored by informants. Most of our tactics relied on weight of numbers rather than secrecy. Any tactics that required secrecy were discussed and carried out by small affinity groups, using in-person meetings.
Keep in mind that this was before most people had mobile devices. So in-person organising was still the norm for activists.
