If you didn't check the box during install, run 'sudo tasksel' and you will be presented with the same options.
For finer grained control on what gets installed (WRT DEs) search for the Debian Wiki on your desktop of choice. There are meta-packages that pull in more or less of what you want.

Debian 13 (Trixie) comes with a bunch of drivers and media codecs out of the box now. So, probably no need to install Ubuntu for that reason. Try a live session and check if everything you need is aboard.

I'd assume it's a simple
sudo apt install gnome-core -y
or
sudo apt install task-gnome-desktop -y
for everything

I like/rely on the multi desktop feature of Gnome. How easy is it to put that on #Debian, anyone?
Gnome is a checkbox at installation time, im running it on Debian right now. Are you talking about the workspaces feature? Gnome ships with that by default in any linux that has Gnome available.
