It's never too late to transition 💜
Post
@cwebber I had just turned 66 years old when I began transition. So, yeah. It's never too late. 😊
@cwebber
Yes !
True talk never to give up👍
@cwebber amen. a friend's relative (retired priest) transitioned in her mid seventies, about 25 years ago when that was even 'older' than it is now. She was so happy and it just made total sense.
@cwebber honestly a trans friend really walked me back from the metaphorical edge when he said "time doesn't make transition impossible, it just makes it more expensive" heh
@cwebber my partner just did in his early 40's! it was the best thing he's ever done, for all of us. :)
I'm a late transitioner. While I would rewrite time to transition sooner if I could, I'm glad I came out when I did. It's amazing how much in life has changed, how much feels more right since transitioning.
@cwebber I started when i was ready, which was when i was 34.
It would've been nice if I was ready earlier, but, eh 🤷🏻♀️ I'm hot, I'm me, I'm here to stay
@cwebber Same! 💛💪🏻🕺🏼Was 46 when I realized and started transitioning, 56 now. Feels so good to finally be me, I have arrived to life.
To those who feel they want to, but are afraid it's too late: two phrases helped me a lot.
The best time to transition would have been yesterday, but the second best time is today.
Regarding HRT: You're going to be "on hormones" no matter what. So which ones are the right ones for you?
@cwebber what helped me was realizing I could just... stop taking it if I don't like the effects. And to not think of it as strictly for binary trans people. Or what really helped was hearing about trans women who "boymode" for years. Because even if they're doing it for safety reasons or whatever I was more just worried I'd lose my ability to pass as male because I still like being able to do that. I don't mind people knowing I'm trans!
