i have a phd in ~language models~ and with the full gravitas of my expertise, ppl need to stop talking to chatbots
@gildilinie I have a PhD in Human Computer Interaction, and I know why people like talking to them.
Which doesn't alter the fact that I agree - people need to stop talking to them.
@SteveClough @gildilinie Weizenbaum was right, and he called this shit in the early 70s. (And they ignored him then, too.)
its like if a hundred million people went to the carnival and got scammed by a fortune teller doing cold reading. except it was just one of those coin operated animatronic fortune tellers
