something just reminded me of when my friend got onto the plane to go to an academic conference wearing shorts, had packed no other bottoms, and had to buy them at the destination 😂

This happens to me with shoes from time to time. Yes, it turns out flip flops in February aren't such a good idea most places...
there was a period of time where a household member and i kept arriving at (car) destinations and realizing only one of us (me) was wearing any shoes, so i kept having to go into retail establishments solo to transact on our behalves because no shoes meant no service for household member 😂
@inquiline Look, I once flew to the UK with no shirts but the one I wore on the plane… shit happens. 😂

around postcollege yrs, several friends lived in a house in philly & were pretty fluid with borrowing each other's stuff. one friend was going to visit family & wanted to repossess pants our other friend had borrowed, so grabbed them out of that friend's laundry pile. upon unpacking in california, realized they were in the laundry pile bc the friend had... lost bowel control while wearing them. so he had fewer pants to wear than he'd expected, & urgently had to do laundry himself
