You can get killed doing a lotta things in America, at any moment. You don't realize it but both of you did a TON of shit that coulda ended your life as a teen. We can't expect young people to behave like 50 year old adults with mortgages and skin in the game.
The best you can do is teach them what to do when the rent-a-pig is yelling "stop" and trust that, statistically speaking, the kids will be alright.
