Weekend garage sale bargain. I only use these twice a year (when teaching first aid classes), but after borrowing one twice from a friend here this year figure it was worth the $3. Sure beats what I *was* doing before, which was buying one or two Starbucks "Travelers" ($$$, plus they're not a giant anti-Union corporation). #coffee

@ai6yr I can only imagine bad church reception coffee from this lol.
I鈥檝e never used one but my guess is most people just dump in too little Maxwell house instant and crank it up, producing weak but burnt coffee.
@onyxraven Yeah, the key is to add a LOT OF COFFEE. The bad coffee ie because 1. cheap coffee and 2. not enough of it. You can overcome #1 by adding a lot, lol.
@ai6yr @onyxraven I've never actually used a percolator, but I know some people swear by them. Isn't the problem for large urns like that that you have to keep percolating in order to keep the coffee hot?
@ai6yr @onyxraven Again, I am speaking from a great deal of ignorance here.
@mattblaze @onyxraven Thermal mass. They're not meant for staying percolating all day... They're meant really for a big batch
