That's definitely a phenomenon, but it doesn't explain this one.
You can see from Dawkins' own recounting, that he *initially* used “Claude” and “he/him”, and then, *after* being won over, *deliberately declares* that “she” is now to be known as “Claudia”.
So, the parlour trick worked *first*, and *then* Dawkins decided that this sycophantic slave must be female.
