Won't Get Fooled Again
Be aware that there is an information warfare campaign being waged here very similar to the Genocide Joe stuff that succeeded so spectacularly in 2024.
@mastodonmigration Joe Biden is a genocidal madman who murdered 250,000+ human beings in the name of their racial inferiority to the master race. Genocide Joe is an accurate label for one of history's greatest monsters, not "stuff."
And, unless you are arguing that the current administration has been better, how many more of the people you profess to support have been killed as a result of this 'principled' position. Sometimes there are no good choices, only less bad options.
@mastodonmigration this attitude is why the DNC hasn't been replaced by the Greens or WFP and is run by rightwingers like Chuck Schumer, offering a platform of being $1 less evil than the GOP, or as I call it, the "Price Is Right" strategy of lesser evil politics. We are living in the hell wrought by the failure to demand better. Donald Trump is the direct product of these politics under Obama.
Familiar with this line of attack. The implication is you believe you need to tacitly aid a regime who will kill more of the people you profess to support in order to achieve progress.
@mastodonmigration that regime that will kill more was born from Obama bailing out the bankers, letting main street die, expanding the foreign adventurism, doing Mitt Romney's healthcare plan, but worse, and generally wanting to be a celebrity instead of a leader. The failure to MAKE the DNC do better (or just give McCain the win and build out the Greens as a vehicle for the left) directly causes Trump. Your acquiescence to DNC malfunction will only sow worse seeds than Trump, like before with W
Are you seriously saying the Democrats are worse, and will kill more of those you say you care about than the current regime?
If so, your argument is consistent. Disagree with it, but it is logical.
If, you admit that the current regime is worse, then what is required is some mental gymnastics where sacrificing more people on the alter of purity politics somehow delivers a brighter future. The question then is, how many of those you profess to support are you willing to sacrifice?
It basically becomes a kind on anarchist idea, that you have to burn it all down, and want to watch it burn, to get to some better place, and that the increase in death and suffering is just the price we need to pay. Don't know your situation, but usually these arguments are made by those who don't think they will be caught up in the conflagration.
@mastodonmigration if you don't see how a rightwing DNC that agrees with the GOP 95% of the time isn't the majority of how we got here in terms of genocide and climate collapse, I suppose I will never convince you that removing them will help anything, so we are at an impasse. Let's keep the corporate dems in there because they are killing it as per helping the downtrodden, which elitists like us lefties don't get because of all the white privilege and toxic Bernie bro masculinity. This will win
You seem to confuse supporting the lesser of two evils with supporting evil.
Not arguing these guys are good, just that by not supporting the better alternative you are defacto supporting the worse alternative, and that is going to get more of the people you profess to support killed.
It is really that simple.
@mastodonmigration I am just glad I don't live in Maine....and that's the first time I've every thought that.
@mastodonmigration Local districts and states have to elect the person for them. People should worry about their own State and districts first, before throwing rocks at dems in other place. Look how different Sen. Blumenthal and Rep Ocasio-Cortezare, and their districts are very close to each other. To each district their own, and get rid of MAGA first. ,
@mastodonmigration I hears ya, and generally agree. But also ... Fetterman.
Turncoat Dems ain't no help either.
'Fetterman' and 'Tattoo' are the trigger words in this campaign, just as 'Genocide' was in 2024. Recognize how they are trying to manipulate you.
This is not to say there is absolutely nothing at all behind the allegations (which is why it works). Just that if you choose not to vote for Platner because of this, you are helping get Susan Collins reelected, and that is their purpose.
@mastodonmigration Oh, I agree fully. Even getting that rugpull in the future is better than the alternative. Just being realistic.
Then why did dems not vet this guy, and choose to run someone with actual nazi tattoos? Like, am I really supposed to believe that this guy was the Maine Democratic Party's best choice?
He's absolutely gonna do a Fettterman, but the DNC has, once again, presented a garbage candidate that we "have to" vote for because the stakes are too high not to.
Isn't it just as easy for me to turn around and say "There's a targeted campaign to run nazi death cultists as Democrat candidates to undermine the party, and Fetterman and Platner are the prime examples."
Framing "thinking he's a horrible choice" as "getting tricked by 'THEM' into thinking it" is a false dichotomy, and doesn't make him a better candidate. It just makes everyone that disagrees "less than".
