@rbreich Wealthy people spending huge amounts to influence referenda in California hasn't worked very well when they are obviously jut trying to protect their self-interests. Of course Brin can afford to waste $57 million.
@rbreich yep! they have too much f*cking money!
@rbreich democracy is the problem itself. Democracy denies reason exists and is based on conflict of interests between mortals sharing same land
Since Sergei Brin is worth something in the order of $264B, he stands to pay about $13B in this one time 5% proposed tax. $57M is pocket change on that scale and will net him a 230X return on investment.
I hope a bee flies up his dick hole while he's passed-out on his boring yacht where there are never any actual friends around to give a shit about him the next day. 😊
@rbreich elections are too expensive? Maybe they should be tax-reduced?
@rbreich Brin owns a rusty boat.
@rbreich How does that amount compare to the amount he would be taxed by?
@rbreich And here I am, a student in Gaza, trying to raise a few dollars just to continue my education. The gap is heartbreaking. Thank you for speaking up about this. 🙏🍉
@rbreich Maybe we should make political spending over the individual limit subject to a 200% excise tax. Every dollar spent on politics results in a $2 tax liability. Spend $57 million on political measure? Pay $114 million in tax. Pay $250 million? Pay $500 million in tax.
Only $57 Million?!
Californians should put hundreds of measures like this on the ballot! Every year!
