Zack Polanski may be learning a lesson on why, as a leader of a popular challenger party, retweeting 'in haste' is not the best approach to buttressing his political profile.
Certainly, the Labour Party (Keir Starmer in particular) are looking for excuses to criticise Polanski, so he needs to not make unforced errors like this (although who cannot also say they've never re-posted in haste?).
For the GPEW the political environment is becoming less forgiving.

(Reminder that a kick to the head can cause traumatic brain injury with life-altering consequences, up to and including death. It's nothing short of attempted murder.)

I have heard judges (Sheriffs) equating a kick to the head with stabbing in terms of severity of an assault.
(Note for self defence- no matter how good your martial arts, don't use head kicks; they are dangerous to yourself both at the time & in any subsequent criminal accusation. Also open hand strikes often sound better to a court than punching with a fist.)
@cstross The kicking followed three stabbings by the man being captured. This was clearly the arrest of a very dangerous man.
Police should use the minimum force needed to safely do the job.This police violence may have been justified. Or maybe not.
As with a shooting by police, there should be an automatic investigation of police kicks to the head.
But #Starmer tries to delegitimse even the hint that this might be problematic 😡

Polanski retweeted a post noting that a mentally man was on the ground, being kicked in the head by police while being tasered.
All that is undisputed. Polanski offered no criticism of police. He just highlighted a troubling event, which absolutely should be scrutinised. There should be an automatic independent investigation of any case of cops kicking heads.
And for that, Polanski is being monstered.
