We're launching a trading card game sometime this year.
It is a goofy little thing that's designed to be playable with two booster packs (or with full decks.)
I really like the idea of a game that can be played that like, a different game every time.
I should get proofs of our booster packs from our printer in the mail tomorrow.
I am super on the fence about Booster Packs in general, because most modern booster pack based trading cards are just gambling.
I've worked around that by making the cards in these packs all equally common/rare, so that there can't really be chase cards.
(and, of course, by being a small game that does not have an existing secondary market, so that even if some cards were rarer than others, there's no dollar value associated with the rarer cards, removing the scratch-off mentality.)
Anyway, I'll post some pictures of the cards tomorrow.
We'll be doing playtests this weekend.
If the proofs look okay and the playtests go well, we'll have the full run of booster packs by Momocon.
