I truly love Mastodon, but there is one thing I simply cannot fathom:
If I create a post with a video, I can share a video with 30 images every second, potentially containing thousands of images.
But if I create a post with regular images, I am limited to four images in a post.
But why? 🤷🏻♂️
@randahl The "30 images every second" video is still one file. The four images are four files, so the image attachment protocol seems more generous, if anything.

Are you allowed to upload the video to the Mastodon host? Or do you need to host it elsewhere?
@randahl that's 4k worth of word pics. No one has time to read all that 
@randahl My experience with > 4 images would be a long toot full of thumbnails, displacing other toots in the scroll or hiding them behind “Read more”.
A video only needs one thumbnail.
