@robosam today i had lunch with a banker friend who i told about Microsoft itself declaring that SteamOS was currently a better Windows than Windows 11 for gaming, lol
unfortunately Excel is load bearing for his work and that still means windows >_< tho he bought Office 2019 standalone AI-free edition a few years ago
i cannot tell you how much he hates windows, more than most people. it's a bit like nobody hates AI more than people forced to use it at work.*
* well artists maybe
@davidgerard @robosam frind of mine quitted his job yesterday over being forced to use AI.
He's going to start as an external consultant for the same company he just walked away from on Monday.
They just don't know yet that it is him they actually hired to do what they didn't let him do in his old job for double his old salary.
Yes it's automotive and yes it's security
@davidgerard @robosam I've been trying so hard to escape using it at work, to the point of struggling to get SolidWorks to work in a VM so we can do the stupid windows-only stuff but still do most things in Linux.
It hasn't gone great. I hate expensive equipment with shitty control software.
@bipolaron @robosam it's always that One Fucking App
@davidgerard What is his beef with Excel on MacOS?
