Unfortunately AI has come to be a catch all term for a wide array of advanced computer processing techniques. Talking about no generative LLM code in a FOSS project, or attesting that an piece of artwork was created by a human, is not the same thing as using machine learning to analyze radiology images. They are all lumped under AI though.

@mastodonmigration I don't want medicine free of AI. AI has been key to many breakthroughs, and the pace is accelerating:

@mastodonmigration all those techniques are means of having computers do things only humans used to be able to do. They're definitely a form of intelligence, intelligence ultimately capable of contributing to the demise of humans if we're not careful. While I welcome medical uses of AI, I have grave concerns about humanity's ability to handle AI and all other forms of technology responsibly. Bigotry & hatred make humans a great danger to ourselves. We can go extinct from our own advances.
