If there's one thing i can offer fellow activists today, with the gutting of the voting rights act, it's this: instead of saying "disadvantaged", say "dismissed". When i was in a nonprofit, making this change shifted me & others to really name the problem, the long history of harm, & move to compassionate community solutions
