I'm setting up an old netbook (basically an eeepc clone) for a friend, and she just wants to use it for writing in a simple text editor. I thought I'd install Haiku on it, but I had a lot of trouble with the installer and what I ended up with boots astonishingly slow.
Would "BSD" be good for this? (and if so which BSD is the good one?) Open to other suggestions.
my requirements are:
1. very stable
2. boots fast
3. can run on an old intel atom potato with <1 gb of ram
4. can run a simple text editor
5. has suspend/resume
6. gui
hm idk if it'll match the above, but i wonder if Temple OS runs on this thing
