@strypey I read part of it. It looks like it was authored by you. I share the feeling of not being connected to the people in the US Green Party. I could do so much for them but it is very hard to help people who think so differently.

@strypey
Great posting. You are one of the few people who cares about Green Party Software. Are you involved with the Green party?

No;

There are quite a few lurking around here, a bunch of them Greens members. Taskforces have been set up to try to move the party off offshore-controlled corporate platforms, and into services the party hosts for itself (or has someone community-host), using Free Code. But the party seems to be dominated by tech-illiterate marketing people.

Yes it was. Sorry, I thought that was self-evident. I'm sure you can understand why I don't want to re-explain everything I wrote there every time the subject comes up ; )

I know, right?
3) Fascistern media (see: https://berjon.com/fascintern-media/):
* nzgreens.nationbuilder.com
* cdnjs.cloudflare.com
* ajax.googleapis.com
* assets.nationbuilder.com
* www.googletagmanager.com
* static.cloudflareinsights.com
* platform.twitter.com
* connect.facebook.net
In 2026 there is no justification for collaborating with technofascist corporations who are actively collaborating with a crypto-fascist US Executive. In some cases, also providing Likud and the IDF with tech support for genocide.

But even putting that aside, you are putting your digital presence in the hands of corporations whose owners oppose everything you stand for, and can use that dependence to quietly sabotage your operations.
All of this corporate tech can be replaced with ethical tech, and needs to be, if you want to have any chance of converting the support you have into mobilisation, votes, etc.

I guess the people we really need to be talking to are this lot;
The digital marketing company that supply the NZ Greens with their website.
(4/?)
Here's the 3rd-party domains the forpurpose.nz site tries to load scripts from;
* forpurposehq.nationbuilder.com
* assets.nationbuilder.com
* cdnjs.cloudflare.com
* staticcdn.co.nz
* siteimproveanalytics.com
* static.cloudflareinsights.com
* www.googletagmanager.com
* platform.twitter.com
* ssl.google-analytics.com
* connect.facebook.net
Again, at least 5 fascistern media corporations they're helping to DataFarm visitors to their site 🤦♂️

@strypey i know Kristin from For Purpose and worked in providing oversight on the original build (many years ago, and even at the time i objected to the tech stack being used). He's actually a very nice person, and would probably be receptive to the discussion. Ultimately, though, it'll come down to what the party can afford to do about it. Make a good case for change though, and there will be many tech allies in the party to support it.
