There are two ways that most patients access the UK's health services via their GP & via A&E.

New research suggests nearly half of Britons delay or do not contact their GP when ill because they expect access to be so delayed as to make it pointless;

while there has been some intervention to try & resolve this issue, it seems for now to remain a significant driver of growing dissatisfaction with the NHS, and reflects budget & workforce planning problems

Something fishy about this:

"Wes Streeting, the health secretary in England, and his counterparts in Edinburgh and Cardiff will be concerned that only 15% of the public think the government in their nation is pursuing the right policies to revive the health service. Far more – 54% – disagree."

I don't see a breakdown by nation?

It *might* be similar in Scotland, but I also see no mention of the walk-in GP centres "our nation" has started opening to address it.
