#HolosDiscover was built to solve a concrete problem: when you join #HolosSocial, your mobile server is empty. No posts, no accounts to find. The API provides search and trending content as a fallback for servers with no indexation yet.
We built a web UI at https://discover.holos.social using the same data, so anyone can see what's indexed without being a developer. Any Fediverse app or instance can also access it through the API.
@HolosSocial I probably missed it, but how about relay support?

We started with direct ActivityPub follows because it gives us a clear consent chain at the user level.
Relay support isn't excluded, but our current organic discovery through the network (boosts, mentions, replies) works well and stays consistent with our approach. Either way, content from relays would be heavily filtered to respect user consent before any indexing.
@HolosSocial @surfhosting is there anyway to build this discovery into the app directly, even if it's simply wrapped?

Yes, that's actually the primary goal. Holos Discover was built to feed content into the Holos app directly. The web UI is just a bonus for transparency.
