Germany's leader wants to end anonymity online, demonstrating ignorance of both technology and the manifestly good reasons for anonymity (e.g. person with views govt doesn't like, whistle-blowers, etc.).
He, like so many before him, wants you to get a license to speak.

@dangillmor Yep, many of us rely on at least some level of anonymity online. OTOH, if you see an account titled "REAL AMERICAN PATRIOT "🇺🇲🇺🇲💪🍻🇺🇲🚜🛻🇺🇲⚾️🏈🇺🇲🏅🚬✅️🇺🇲🇺🇲✅️✅️🇺🇲" you probably shouldn't believe every single thing they post with no vetting.

@dangillmor that's a typical fascist agenda, and as usual this is restricted to citizens. Politicians retain their rights to privacy and gain protections. Conservative parties in Germany getting fuzzy feelings about Adolf's days sometimes propose these to prove they are still brown in their hearts.

I'm German, and I loathe that man.
He is arrogant, ignorant and hasn't put in a single day of decent labor in his entire life.
He's another one of those privileged old white men who think they can just take whatever they want. He lost out on being the chancellor of Germany twenty plus years ago (Angela Merkel took him out of the running), and that has grated on he ego ever since.
Now he made chancellor and shows how utterly lacking his leadership abilities are.

@dangillmor I appreciate the issue with it, but, on the other hand, allowing accounts to be anonymous brings out the worst in bad people as they don't have to be accountable for what they say. It also makes it hard to distinguish real person from a bot.
