Totally agree! This is exactly what #GoToSocial's interaction policies already handle with Accept/Reject for replies. The missing piece is retroactive rejection. When a reply was auto-accepted by the policy and you later block the author, the server should send a Reject on the original Create activity to unlink it. Extending their framework would be the cleanest path.

Blocking someone should remove their replies from your posts, this is the type of safety features we need in the Fediverse!

The reply isn't deleted, just unlinked from the original thread. It still exists on the author's instance. Nothing prevents them from writing their own post with a link to the original message. This is just about keeping a respectful conversation space under the author's post.

Ok, this might be better then. Not sure if it would work for ping-pong message threads.
To follow the discussion, someone would have to visit the comment on the profile and then scroll up to the first message where the original discussion started.
