aarnet has debian ISOs! but they're not listed on the debian website as a mirror (and weirdly, the aarnet mirror homepage doesn't even list debian)

@decryption They are listed on the mirrors page here (in the ‘Complete List of Mirrors’ section) https://www.debian.org/mirror/list
@decryption @oxyhyxo aarnet FTW but slightly annoying when the ubuntu 24.04.3 netboot kernel suddenly doesn't match the 24.04.3 server iso and builds fail to build.
@bartreardon @decryption yeah it can be surprisingly laggy in keeping in sync.
Its not too bad for ISOs but I wouldnt set it to be my package repo mirror
@oxyhyxo @decryption they do their best. If you meet an aarnet employee in the wild, shout them a beer or a coffee or something and tell them its ok.
@bartreardon @decryption 100%
I miss being a part of the aarnet network (best network in australia)
@oxyhyxo @bartreardon good memories of hitting Usenet servers at over 200MB/sec back in 2005 when I worked at RMIT
@decryption yeah - can't recall how I set this up but my Trixie schlepptop is getting updates from there for some of it.
@decryption I typically go straight to the aarnet mirror for all my iso needs.
(it can lag a bit with OpenBSD snapshots though. For that I use cdn.openbsd.org)
@decryption ps. soon if everything goes to plan you'll be able to host your own mirrors ;)
@decryption @voltagex hows the whole thing going?
@oxyhyxo @voltagex waiting for Interactive & Aussie Broadband to send me contracts - currently building a little website, payment stuff & basic documentation, along with a support/community forum for customers - mucking around with virtfusion - waiting for servers bits to arrive from overseas (RAM, CPUs, SSDs) - still need to decide on a switch & router (arista 7050T & a 1RU server running OPNsense i think)
@decryption @voltagex are you thinking of offering server colocation at some point?
