Everytime I try planning something interrail based, I get infuriated by the poor design choices made by every rail journey planner out there. As well as the inherent flaw in every journey planner: it assumes I know where I want to go. Sometimes I just want to say "I'll be arriving in $station at $time. Where can I go by train in the next 2 hours?" Or "where can I get to from this station?" The aimless rambling is hard. It's something I miss about paper time tables.

@quixoticgeek National Rail in the UK has "improved" their web site / app such that, for example, when you view a specific journey it no longer tells you where the train is ultimately going to.
This has made planning trips where different stop offs are an option much more difficult to plan.

@MikeFromLFE @quixoticgeek I am genuinely at a loss as to what sort of process they follow to spend money on these apps only to end up making them worse from a user perspective.
Is it arrogance? Incompetence? Or just them deciding what is important? 🤷♂️
