It's a dangerous move for the advocates of a technique or methodology to go from "This is useful" to "Not doing this is irresponsible". The latter is a much stronger claim that is frequently made in error.

@cford are we talking about static typing, tdd, or something else this time?
@otfrom I was thinking about agile/TDD (I read your convo) but I think it applies broadly including static typing and agentic coding.

@cford true, but we do need to think about the trade offs and the consequences. It isn't as if we can just duck the question.
(I'm still disappointed that we didn't go from self organising teams to anarcho-syndicalism, but that is probably a different topic)
