Maybe something like this needs to be set up for people pressganged into joining ICE, or any other organisation aligned with Orange Stalin? As the Ukrainians obviously know, accepting surrender, despite what those people have done to them as enemy fighters, reduces their opponents capacity to keep doing stuff like that.

Whereas a take no prisoners approach, morally conflating front line grunts with the dictator they serve, just helps the dictatorship keep their troops in line.
