Been thinking this for while now. The EU's recent efforts to reduce their dependency on the US are at least a decade too late, and at this point they may be better to apply to join the BRICS rather than recreate all the individual components that the BRICS already has.

Thinking about it though the EU does seem to have been concluding trade deals that were previously held up for years - eg. Mercosur, India. Canada too has done a deal with India recently, hasn't it ?

Maybe the rest of the world is coming together as the US becomes increasingly unreliable ?

Yes, and any closer working between the EU and BRICS would undermine Western banking systems and isolate the USA....probably killing the petrodollar (and the USA) at the same time.
