Should I pursue ADHD medication if my work is not super important?
Yeah sure, reading books or watching movies might get easier, (instead of going down endless rabbit holes), but is it worth it?

@farah For me medication has been life changing overall, not just for work. It’s easier to hold a conversation, to pursue my hobbies, to do the things I actually want to do instead of what my brain chases, there’s less Radio static in my head. I got lucky and didn’t have to trial and error much, but the overall impact definitely would’ve made some searching worth it.
It’s not a golden bullet. You won’t be a magic efficiency machine. But it does smoothen a lot of the sharp edges in my brain.
@farah I think it's less about the importance of your work, and more about how much trouble and stress your ADHD gives you in your daily life. If you found the right prescription which gave you six or eight hours a day of better (but still imperfect) focus, would it improve your life, overall?
And if you're considering work, consider parenting. Would it help your parenting?
@ZenHeathen Good points. Although I find laid back approach better for parenting. So yeah, I don’t think there’s anything to improve there
