I've done a lot of data processing with perl using the perl data language package (PDL). It's also loaded with utilities to do image processing. Very powerful language.
@stargazersmith Using a lot of PDL myself. The Task:MemManager ecosystem at CPAN exposes memory buffer views through PDL and offers a way to combine GPU ops (through OpenMP) with PDL
