New #Documentation: Importing ballistic chronograph data from #FXRadar into #InfluxDB

I use a pocket chronograph to monitor power output when #shooting - I decided that I wanted to be able to monitor it over time, so created a utility to take an export from the app and write it into InfluxDB

@neil Yeah, it's a lovely bit of kit. I ummed and ahhed a bit about whether to get it or not, but I'm glad I did

The app has profiles for each rifle, so knows how many shots there are in the mag - it uses text-to-speech to tell me when I'm onto my last shot 😀

@neil Ah that's a good idea.

Do they test everyone at the beginning, or do they just do random spot checks so that things can get moving faster?

Funnily enough, someone I go dog walking with was talking about airsoft (and specifically, snipers) this morning

@neil I have a standalone one too (though likely less featureful than yours - it can store the last 5 shots and that's it).

I use it as an authoritative source for muzzle energy readings - although the radar one's close enough for routine use, if the gun were ever formally tested, they'd likely be measuring at the muzzle.

In my experience, there's *always* a need, you just haven't rationalised/invented one yet!
