I am not very familiar with Meetup and was confused by an email from the platform.
Veteran Meetuppers, does ChatGPT's analysis hold water?

@judell ?? The platform is encouraging you to RSVP for events listed on it. The progress bar showing how many RSVPs you have done has nothing to do with the event listing - it's just gamifying you using the platform. This seems pretty obvious without asking ChatGPT.
@GuerillaOntologist Wasn't obvious to me! And tbh still isn't. Do you agree there are separate concepts mashed together here? Would you present them differently if the goal were not to gamify?
@judell @GuerillaOntologist can organizer set min-rsvp-threshold to be higher than capacity? (Obv they shouldn't.....)
@judell @GuerillaOntologist I think I agree with jz's interpretation - the top image is about a totally different lens, and the 2 should be more clearly contextualized.
@judell @GuerillaOntologist also icymi Meetup is now owned by BendingSpoons. cc @boris

@billseitz @judell @GuerillaOntologist my stance on this even before Meetup was acquired by WeWork, and now more recently Bending Spoons, is “don’t use Meetup”
As an attendee, you likely don’t see the organizer extortion fees they charge.
