Is it an app or a server pronlem ?
Try logging in on the website at https://scicomm.xyz and see if it works there.
If it doesn't work on the website, ask your admin if they have elasticsearch installed. Not all servers have elasticsearch as it costs extra to run, and if they don't have it then this is why it doesn't work.

If you're logged in on the website and it doesn't work there either, then it does sound like your server hasn't got elasticsearch active.
