@hipsterelectron i think you're misunderstanding those a bit tho, the nazi comparison was rhetorical and the implication is that the other thing is as bad as the holocaust, not that the holocaust was right. the second one is about philosophy of ethics, the idea is less that rights literally don't exist and more that they are (approximately) the result of different primitives.
@lizzy yes i'm choosing to believe it was raised in bad faith but i now realize that has some harmful externalities. i didn't link in OP because i didn't intend to overindex on the individual
@lizzy personally i see appeals to such comparisons as indicative of laziness at best and a desire towards edgelordism with plausible deniability in the general case. a utilitarian who fails to consider the construction of the utilitarian calculus as a necessarily and appropriately subjective process is uninteresting to me and together i found it unconvincing but agree that it was incorrectly portrayed
