About This Session
How can regional consortia lower the barrier to ORCID adoption for institutions and researchers? In this session, we explore the power of Community Hubs—specialized platforms designed to simplify integration and amplify research visibility.
We are bringing together the leads behind three major regional initiatives: the TENET Intembeko ORCID Hub (South Africa), the NZ ORCID Hub (New Zealand), and the Uganda ORCID Hub (Uganda).
What to Expect:
This collaborative session moves beyond theory to show how these hubs function in the real world. Our speakers will discuss:
- The Origin Story: Learn the backstory on how the concept of the community hub was born.
- The "Why" and "How": Each consortium will share the specific drivers behind their hub's creation and the steps they took to get it off the ground.
- A Technical Deep Dive: We will walk through the technical architecture and user interface via a guided walkthrough to show exactly how these platforms work.
- Community Impact: Hear concrete examples of how local institutions are currently using these hubs to manage affiliations and boost global recognition.
