You park like an arsehole, Dutch moped addiction. Mopeds are better than cars, but they shouldn't have to contend with pedestrians for pavement space. They could take out one car space and the mopeds would all fit there. And then ban parking them on the pavement.

@quixoticgeek Parking in car bays is quite often not allowed, if not by law then by local regulation.
And at least for motorcycles, parking on the pavement is officially not a thing either, or so some over eager police officers told me a few times.
So then you end up with the rule of thumb that you're not allowed to park anywhere which is unreasonable so you can park everywhere. ;-)
As long as people do this reasonably and there's not too many people doing it, this can work out quite well.

The thing with the mopeds as it is is sort of understandable though. There's no "official" place to park them so they go anywhere.
When commuting by motorcycle into Amsterdam I always worried that they'd put in official parking spots, but they'd half-ass it and create like 5 official parking spots in the whole city and then start enforcing the pavement thing.
If they'd take one car space every so often and turn it into a moped/motorcycle park, that would tidy up quite well
@quixoticgeek Bicycle racks they can do, they're everywhere. Car spaces they can do, they're everywhere. Now add some medium-sized spaces for mopeds/motorcycles/cargo bikes etc.
Preferably with some built in ground anchors so people can hang on to their easily stolen vehicles too.

Haven't been to Amsterdam for a while, back when I worked in the city center (10+ years ago) it was still quite a challenge to park a not-a-car and not-a-bicycle anywhere sensibly, nevermind legally.
Dunno if that's changed, but it's still a crowded old town and if anything it's gotten a lot more crowded.
@Tubemeister or we could take out a parking space and make a dedicated moped parking space.
