Wondering if #PhanpySocial users know that the composer can be minimized or popped out as a separate window (only on desktop)? 🤔

@cheeaun holy cow i did not!!
@cheeaun yes, sir, I knew it. And thank you for Phanpy, I've been using since week 2 of being in Mastodon!
@cheeaun had no idea I could open it on a new window. Thank you for the tip!!
@cheeaun I guess Chromebooks aren't "desktop"?
@colo_lee 🤔 can it open new windows?
@cheeaun I have plenty of other programs that can open new windows. Are there any other places in phanpy where it would open a new window?
And I'm not sure if any of the other PWAs I have open windows so maybe it's a PWA limitation.
@colo_lee hmm does the pop-out icon appear when you open the composer?
@cheeaun Yes and I use both a lot
It's among the little things that makes using Phanpy very comfortable
The minimize feature is probably new to some, but the pop-out feature was there since… launch (2022) 😅
- Composer pop-out/in preserves everything both ways; post text, cw text, poll, and even media attachments.
- Possible to open *multiple* composer windows. Conflicts are handled if you pop-in the composer to an already-open composer in the main window.
- Accidentally closing them (or the whole browser) is fine because the content is periodically saved as "unsent drafts".
I found the minimize by accident, it was a god sent or at least Chee Aun sent. :D
@cheeaun I love opening on a new window 👌
@cheeaun I use that feature a lot. Now if only there was draft support 😊 cause lots of times I will have a post I'm working on but then don't finish and want to reply to someone first but that's blocked cause there is a post in the works
@liaizon hmm, if you're referring to the "minimize" feature, I guess that make sense, it can't have multiple "instances" of the composer on a single page 🤔 so you have no choice but to close it.
