@halcy That graph does not seem right. The # of motor vehicle accidental deaths seems unrealistically low. According to this, it's more like 38,000 in 2020?

@halcy@icosahedron.website americans during the covid19 pandemic were advised by their president to inject themselves with bleach. and advised by the number 1 podcaster on multiple platforms to ingest dewormer intended for horses. and other. they were not using masks or vaccinating against the virus as their president publicly told them they were ineffective.

is this an outsized influence of a specific profession that stopped existing or such

though the weird two step drop is confusing to me. like do you turn 40 and stop taking drugs? and if not you turn 55 and stop taking drugs?
or are there outside interventions that make a snapshot of the data look like that
