LibreNMS and MikroTik are a great combination.

A client reached out because they had no clear idea how their queues were configured or whether they were actually needed. After all, "everything seems to be running fine.". The usual mantra: "if eveything's working, what am I paying you for?"

I pulled up LibreNMS, grabbed a couple of screenshots, and suddenly everything made sense.
The response? "WOW."

@stefano I am confused if librenms should be integrated to routeros or I should run my own linux server at home with librenms and add mikrotik router as device

@napierge a router should be routing and not be bogged down by running a heavy-ass data collection system. My 2 ct.

@fedops @napierge I agree. I like routers that route, and servers that serve 🙂

@napierge I run it into a FreeBSD jail. It connects to my MikroTik devices (but not only - also Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD and OpenBSD servers) via snmp. It will detect the os and features and will start tracking and graphing them in the proper way
