While we regret when associations in the area of #FreeSoftware (#OpenSource) stop their operations, we are thankful to the @oerinfo that they choose the FSFE to receive their remaining assets. ❣️

Is there any precedent for authors to place code into a trust at the early stage of a project? So that they retain full control until they're ready to relinquish it, but can't transfer rights to any entity besides the FSFE?

I think this would quell a lot of mutual fears between developers, original authors, and users.
