@EUCommission Perhaps you should start by banning hate platforms such as X. And Facebook isn't much better. Finally, TikTok is designed to make you addicted to scrolling. None of this contributes to a better society. On the contrary.

@EUCommission Thx for the info. I am aware of eu alternatives (e.g. https://european-alternatives.eu/) but it would be nice if we could have more of our own European social media alternatives that can compete with e.g. Facebook and Eu competitors for e.g. Amazon. These are just 2 names to illustrate what I mean.
@docdanny We have the #Fediverse with Loops (TikTok), Peertube (youtube), Friendica (FB), Mastodon (text), Pixelfed (Instagram) ... but these alternatives often have a lack of money and workpower, not being backed by billionaires.
The EU doesn't need to invent the wheel anew ... just help the existing structures.
