If you want to grow beans on your plot this year (Europe), you can participate in this citizens science project. It aims to identify which varieties grow well in your area and they maintain a seed bank. You get 5 different kind of beans (climbing and not) and record date and colour of first flower, shape of pods, etc.
I planted 2 plants of each variety last year, 2 did not survive a cold spell, 1 was really prolific.
