The latest British Social Attitudes report has found that support for lower taxes and reductions in pubic spending has grown from a recent average of around 6% of all voters to a new high of 19% (which is still only 1 in 5 of voters); unsurprisingly such attitudes are pretty closely aligned with political views on the Right.

The Right will see this as a further reason to double down on this policy direction.... and make the need to make the counter argument even more urgent!
