Today I learnt you have to be 18+ in #Australia to be able to purchase a mitre saw.

It's hard to imagine a tool that is less useful as a weapon, so I'm guessing we're just really worried about kids getting into carpentry these days.

@pjf I guess there was that one carpenter who became known for advocating for social justice, so there's precedent at least a couple millennia old for governments being afraid of kids getting into carpentry. (But my goodness, you're right, this does seem silly.)
