@dansup If you're seriously considering moving to that type of format, I've found @nodebb to be quite lightweight and easy to install and launch. I did have some initial federation issues but that ended up being my own fault.

Zulip seems to be an option.
@dansup I agree with this. Forum solution may be better than IM. if you set one up, i would join.
@dansup Yeah any self-respecting FOSS project shouldn't have their community on Discord.
Or you can make some Smithereen groups, there are discussion boards now 😏

@incentive @dansup #Discourse has a passable iOS client, though. There's #Tapatalk for #NodeBB (I believe), but I'm not sure you'll want that in this day and age.
Re: Perhaps Pixelfed and Loops should migrate from Discord to Discourse 🤔
@mbirth@social.mbirth.uk NodeBB doesn't work with Tapatalk, you install the website directly as an app to your home screen and can enable push notifications through that as well.
@incentive @dansup @nodebb I've also had some weird accessibility issues with it, so idk about that.
Re: Perhaps Pixelfed and Loops should migrate from Discord to Discourse 🤔
@dansup@mastodon.social If you're serious about it, let's make it happen. Happy to provide discounted hosting for a NodeBB forum for Pixelfed and Loops on our infra and we can take care of everything.
Caveat: it's gotta federate
DM me whenever you're ready.
