@hipsterelectron @davidgerard I've never worked on ffmpeg, so I guess I've not encountered that side of the project. As an end user though, I'm quite happy with the cli docs. That is however very little of the documentation you really need on the development and maintenance side of things, and I'm sure that there are power users who would complain (after all, I just use the kdenlive front end for a reason except for like a few scripts I made such as my two pass webm script for sending videos without eating up bandwidth).
If what you're saying is true, I'd probably get sick of it pretty quick. I would rather delay a commit by weeks if that's how long it takes to document every few lines. I really do insist on every few lines. If you can't articulate what the code's doing in your native tongue, you don't understand it. If you don't understand it, you shouldn't ship it.
