Was thinking about consultancy opportunities:

Thinking that Open-source implementation vendor for sovereign cloud hosted services.

Think Matrix(Replacing Slack), NextCloud(Replacing OneDrive) and such services for government bodies in Australia.

The key selling being that it’s disconnected from US tech stacks

Thoughts?

@archer it's a good idea if you can get anyone with decision making power to give a crap

@decryption @archer Conceptually it's a great idea. In practice, the challenge is that digital sovereignty discussions in most Australian institutions, I've found, come down to the minimum needed to meet regulatory requirements, which is usually satisfied by "is this hosted in Australia or not?" (E.g., Universities, Power suppliers, etc.)

To get traction the primary selling point would likely need to be "save costs on your licensing!"
