Welp, submitted my claims to the class action lawsuit against a single AI company (even though they all stole the books) for 40 books stolen (even though 97 were actually stolen but many got excluded for reasons that still make me 馃槨).
So many authors had books stolen and yet can't file claims. So many companies are profiting from the theft and stealing more every day. Even this settlement is just a slap on the wrist.
Fuck AI corps forever.

btw this tidbit is INFURIATING
"There are 482,460 works in the Works List; so far, the Settlement Administrator has received a total of 56,798 claims for 161,691 works, which is almost exactly one-third of the total. There have only been 86 opt outs covering 208 works."
The "Works List" is the list of works eligible to make claims. Again... I had 97 works stolen but only 40 were "eligible to make claims".
