Hi community !

A #creativecommons question: if you use a CC BY-NC licence, a commercial LLM model is not licensed to use it, right? (Given you have to pay for that service.)

@laurentperrinet as far as i know, commercial LLMs don't care about licenses, creative common or copyright, for that matter.

@denkodama thanks!

What I expected to hear, yet I find it quite surprising.

@laurentperrinet If you want to stick to what they *should* do, then I suggest you add -SA or -ND to your license, else any derivative could be relicensed.
If you want to make it usefull for people, use CC-BY-SA : big companies that do care about licenses are not likely to use it because they would have to publish the modifications they make, but commonners will happily make your work part of the commons, which are alive and not fixed to a stone wall !
